Well we can compared the world around 20 years ago when the internet just began, and the world now, it is a big difference especially in the fields of communications, information sharing, entertainment and world expansion.

In the communication field the Information delivery really changed in a positive way thanks to the Internet. You can be informed about the entire world only with some clicks by reading newspapers from countries that perhaps you never heard about and also watching their television channels. No matter where you are, if you have a computer and Internet connection you can know everything important that happened in your country and in the world.

Entertainment is another advantage of the Internet. You can indulge yourself in exploring the Internet without feeling bored. On-line games, music, videos and all that you can imagine are inside this virtual world. However, we need to be careful about the use of the Internet and do not become addicted to it because this has become a problem in the modern society.

I consider that the two most important functions of the Internet in this moment are the e-mail and e-business. E-mail is faster and cheaper than regular Post Office mail, so it inevitably became the most popular way to communicate with family or friends; therefore, the number of users continues rising. Then, we have the giant e-business, which has become more and more popular around the world; clothes, books, CDs, cosmetics, foods, and much more are available on the Internet. For convenience and sometimes price, shopping on-line is the option that a lot of people choose every day.

In conclusion, the invention of the Internet makes our lives easier in many ways and is already part of our lives. From now on, we should try to enjoy the advantages that the Internet brings us without becoming addicted to it!

I think that living in an apartment and living in the dormitory have both their advantages and disadvantages. I have been living in the dormitory for almost two years and I feel very satisfied with it, the advantages for students are many: because you do not need to take a bus to go to class, the cost of the room and food on campus are cheaper than outside, so you can save a lot of money. Moreover, if your roommates are also your classmates maybe the friendship improves. On the other hand, the space is limited and it is not exactly your own space, on occasions you can not choose who are you going to live with and your roommates will be people you do not know.

Unlike living in the dormitory, living in an apartment is more expensive. In other words, you will spend more money paying the rent, electricity, water, Internet connection, etc. Also, if you do not have a motorcycle you need to take a bus or MTR to go to school, so you need to learn to manage your time. However, if you find a good place you can have more space and also privacy, and perhaps you have the option to cook by yourself unlike in the dormitory.

To conclude, in my opinion, from the moment that you leave home to begin a more independent life, these two different environments are both good to learn how to deal with daily life and accepting others and their habits.

After I graduated from high school in Paraguay, the country from where I come from, I remembered the big problem which I was involved in. At that moment I really was not sure about the career that I wanted to choose, so I started to search a lot of information about careers and universities and two months later my decision was made: my major will be Computer Science and Information Engineering.

Computer Science and Information Engineering is the major that I chose for reasons that are related with the actual situation of my country. In Paraguay, the field of computer science is still in its infancy and I felt that technology will be indispensable for its development, so I think that Paraguay, and other countries in the same situation, needs professionals in the technological field in order to start the developing process. In other words, I think that today the progress of those countries is in the hands of the technology.

I realize that even if is true that I admire my family is too hard for me to find reasons to explain it, so this is my second try, not real but more objective:

I admire my friend Laura for her practicality.
If she or her friends have a problem, Laura always can figure it out.
When we have to plan a party or something, she can organize all in minutes.
In our outdoor activities she is the only one that always takes all the necessary things in her baggage.

I admire each member of my family because in any kind of circunstances they always try to do the best.
Does not matter how difficult you think is to do something...they can do it!
When they have a lot of problems is when they more remain together.

The most important skill a person should learn in order to be successful in the world...

I think the most important skill that we should learn is how to develop an open mind. The world in we live is a world full of uncertainties, constantly changes of any kind; social changes, cultural changes, technological changes, change is everywhere and we can not avoid this. So, I choose this skill because I think that being a broad-minded is necessary to adapt ourselves to every kind of person, cultures or situations, to learn new things and to survive in today’s world. I am practically sure that people that have this skill (added to others abilities of course) is the group of people that can be successful today.

Hi everybody, my name is Alicia, I am 22 years old. I am from Paraguay, a country of south America.
I came to Taiwan to learn chinese and to study Computer Science and Information Engineering, this is my second year at this University.
I would describe myself as a outgoing person, broad-minded, trustworthy, and very talkative, so in other words I'm saying that I am a very sociable person.
